Over the weekend, Drake hopped onto OVO Radio to debut “Summer Sixteen” and boy, is a doozy. No one is safe on this new track where the Canada rapper goes in on anyone that has slighted him in recent memory. Tory Lanez, President Obama, Kanye West (what is UP with those two?), and of COURSE, Meek Mill. Drake also took a moment to announce that the long awaited Views From the 6 is due in April of this year.
BUT: Fifteen minutes after Drake dropped his track Meek Mill dropped “War Pain,” a diss track that responds to “Summer Sixteen” almost line by line. Coincidence? Meek claimed that one of Drake’s ghost writers passed him the lyrics before the release, giving him ample time to write up the track.
With this song being the punchline of Meek’s second 4/4 EP , this smooth move put Meek back in the game and gave him some of his street cred back. Seems like it’s time to take sides again. Check out Meek’s response below.
