The Savemoney crew has seen the rise of two of their own, so it’s only fitting and expected that rapper Towkio is up next. He began his rise with “Heaven Only Knows”, and we really expected this newest track to gain traction because of it’s fun natured energy mixed with a bangin’ beat. “G W M” aka “Gang With Me” features newest Roc Nation artist and Savemoney crew member Vic Mensa. Mensa goes nuts on the second verse and Towkio shows why it his time. You can listen to “G W M” below.

After publishing 100 issues, the FADER released their first video cover story on JMBLYA alumnus and Chicago-based rapper Vic Mensa. The FADER team, including director Aaron Brown, spent a week with Mensa and the SAVEMONEY crew back in May. We see Mensa in the studio, freestyle rapping in the subway and crawling through the streets of Chicago. The 12-minute piece doesn't just give viewers a look into Vic Mensa as a rapper, but deconstructs the environment around him. The video includes a mix of shots that are home-video, VHS-style film and crisp scenes of the crew producing in the studio. FADER promises that this is the first of many short documentary features. Check out the full article on their site and watch the video below.

Vic Mensa – All That Shines

Vic Mensa2

Vic Mensa is pulling a 2010 Kanye West. That is, he’s dropping a new track every Friday. The latest is called “All That Shines,” and it’s a banger. The song is Vic discussing his newfound fame and wisely realizing that it could be taken away at any moment. This “enjoy it while you can” mentality can inspire us all, but the beat is so ill that we can also vibe to it in the car, or on a Friday night before Vic drops his next track. Go ahead, make a Vic Fridays playlist.

Vic Mensa — I Been

Vic Mensa released his third track in three weeks. A banger with attitude called “I Been.” If you keep up with Mensa’s Instagram you know he’s been performing around North America, while dropping tracks and shows no signs of slowing down. He’s expected to release his first studio album, Traffic, sometime this fall. Until then, Mensa is not letting us forget that he’s been doing this.

Vic Mensa premiered a new song with Skrillex last night. Skrillex hasn’t done much in hip-hop since he collaborated with A$AP Rocky on “Wild for the Night.” At an event for Converse in LA last night, Vic made sure all his fans were ready and recording. “No Chill” had the crowd going crazy and his energy made the world premier even better.

Vic Mensa will be turning up at JMBLYA today and tomorrow. Tickets are still available for purchase below:

Vic Mensa – U Mad (feat. Kanye West) [Video]

U Mad

Vic Mensa finally released his video for his popular single “U Mad” featuring Kanye West, which he premiered live back in April before dropping it as a single. The newly-signed Roc Nation artist switches from mosh scenes to straightjacket scenes, before Yeezus strolls in in his Donda shirt to stare us down. The two MCs create visual chemistry and a matching swag that basically says, “Chicago runs this.” Watch the video below.

If those crazy moshing scenes are any indication of Vic Mensa’s live show, you have to be there for his sets at JMBLYA next weekend in Dallas and New Braunfels. He’ll be there along with PARTYNEXTDOOR, Travi$ Scott and more, so cop your tickets at the links below.
