Big K.R.I.T. at The Mohawk in Austin

Big K.R.I.T. dropped Return Of 4eva this past Monday and fresh off that release graced Austin with his presence.

“They show love, man. It’s definitely an organic vibe every time I’m in Austin,” said K.R.I.T., the rapper and producer from Meridian, Mississippi.

K.R.I.T. produces his music himself. He’s been Tweeting about the #ReturnOf4Eva movement and explained it as “creating southern hip-hop in a way that I remember it and I loved it growing up and kind of reintroducing it to the newer generation that might not know about it and reminding the older generation that grew up on the same music.”

“It’s definitely trying to Make timeless music, make quality over quantity and make music that has subject matter in content,” said K.R.I.T.

K.R.I.T hit the stage that night and performed his set which included coming on and running straight to the front of the stage with Big Sant to perform “Return of 4eva” which led right into “R4 theme song.” His DJ mixed in David Banner’s “Like a Pimp” during “Country Shit” and K.R.I.T. proceeded to jump into the crowd. His full set is listed below.

After he jumped into the crowd he concluded the set with an a cappella performance of the third verse from “Dreamin’” and following this his last words before leaving stage, completely out of breath, were “Hey, Austin. I appreciate the love.”
