Tory Lanez Drops Two Mixtapes

Tory 1

Tory 2

Tory Lanez is starting 2017 with a running start.

For the second year in a row, the 24-year-old artist has shared two mixtapes on New Year’s Day. He released Chixtape 4 and The New Toronto 2, which are the follow up albums of last years The New Toronto and Chixtape 3.

The mixtapes feature A$AP Ferg, Rick Ross and Cash Money’s Jacquees with production from Lanez, Play Picasso, C Sick and araabMUZIK.

He began teasing about their releases back in October tweeting:

And in November tweeting:

He begin releasing details about the albums in December via tweets:

On New Years Day we got a video teaser:

Then later that day he finally gave us the links to download both tapes. If you haven’t had the chance to listen to them, make sure to follow these links to download them.

Future- Buy Love (New Song)

Future released a new song on the low.

To many of his surprised fans, not only did he release a new song but a video with it as well. The video visuals are distorted and very VHS tape-like. The production starts with a melody made with what sounds like a child’s toy but it fades into the background when the verse comes in but comes back with the chorus. The lyrics are about money and what it can do for a lady,

Via HNHH, the song itself comes with little information– Future shared it in a tweet, without prefacing it, and no producer credit it listed yet.

Yelawolf Changes Name

With his tour cancelled mid-way through back in  November. Being emitted into a psych ward by former manger, it appears that he has come out of his hiatus with a brand new identity, no longer wanting to go by Yelawolf.

Thought to be only an Instagram name change, he has decided to keep his government name, Michael Wayne Atha, as his new rap moniker going forward.

He explains in a recently uploaded Instagram post. MWA says he decided to go the sober route after losing one of his close friends. He also explains that he’s lost “everything” and that he’s maintained his sobriety for 300 days.

… they couldn’t handle my vision .. I hoaxed the “suicide” of Yelawolf with my ” blood art ” along side a manic depressive state of mind from years of alcoholism .. after loosing my BiggieSmallz @shawtyfatt I decided to sober up and rebrand my new music as Michael Wayne Atha MWA (my given name from my beautiful mother Sheila Diane the original gangster .. named after Michael Landon and John Wayne) and shook the fuckin game 💥.. so much so that my own X manager and wanna be father had me apprehended and thrown in the psych ward in SD .. where they tried to break me and feed me drugs for 72 hours against my will .. Big Sean- Bounce Back (Video)

Big Sean released a music video for his latest single “Bounce Back”, directed by Kid. Studio, Dec 12.

The trippy surreal video switches from flames, wolves , twerking and flashes of vivid colors like purples, pinks and blues as the Detroit native spits lyrics boasting about his hip-hop dominance.

The track dropped back in October, produced by Hitmaka and Smash David with additional production courtesy of Metro Boomin and Amaire Johnson.

Big Sean released his third studio album back in 2015 , Dark Sky Paradise and earlier this year in April, he and Jhené Aiko release their self-titled debut album, Twenty88. We look forward to seeing this single and more his upcoming fourth studio album, hopefully sometime soon.

Rumored J.Cole Predictions for Newest Album 4 Your Eyez Only

Unless you live under a rock, then you know about J. Cole’s 4th studio album 4 Your Eyez Only. What you might have not realized is how big this fire is spreading. Barley 24-hours into its release, Dec.9, rumors are already surfacing about its huge success.

According to HDD, album sells are being predicted to be between 400-500K copies just in the opening week. In comparison to Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which moved approximately 375K copies in its first week, Cole might be looking at a hundred grad increase this go round if all predictions become true.

Although its release has been short, it has already stirred the drama pot. Cole released the documentary Eyez which featured the tracks “False Prophets” and “Everybody Dies”. Those songs caused a commotion in the hip-hop community over veiled remarks he made about Wale and possibly Kanye West and Lil Yachty.

Like his previous album, 4 Your Eyez Only doesn’t have any features. The 10-song project contains production from Boi-1da, Frank Dukes, Cardiak, Vinylz, Childish Major, Elite, Ron Gilmore and others.

Eyez has flown up to take the #1 spot at iTunes immediately upon release, while track “Deja Vu” moved into the Top 5. The album also occupies the top two spots (in explicit and clean versions) on Apple Music’s streaming albums chart, while tracks occupy the Top 10 spots on the Top Songs leaderboard. If you still haven’t heard the album be sure to check it out here.
