XO artist Nav and label mate The Weeknd announced the release of their new song titled “Some Way” on Twitter this morning. FYI, Nav is an up-and-coming Toronto rapper, who you may remember hearing on Travis Scott’s “Beibs in the Trap”
According to Complex, “despite several high-profile collaborations, including this one, not much is known about Nav at this point. However, he reportedly has a collaborative album on the way with Metro Boomin.”
G.O.O.D. Music artist Desiigner recently released his brand new song called “Outlet” on Beats 1 Radio and also announced a new tour with the same name. According to Complex, “this is a track that Desiigner has teased for months now, and even used it in a commercial without dropping the official version.”
After killing the charts with “Panda,” this new track will definitely be the new hype anthem! Click here to listen to track on Spotify!
Rozay’s upcoming album Rather You Than Me was announced last November and the hype ensued. Let’s talk about why. This is the first album that will be released via his new venture with Epic records. Ross had a long running career with the historic Def Jam label and it was assumed that he would renew his contract with them. Instead he chose to join the new energy that L.A. Reid is building with a roster that includes Future, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Jidenna, 21 Savage, Yo Gotti and more.
Ross announced the name of the forthcoming album via a sweatshirt he fashioned on the red carpet at the AMA’s.
Two months have gone by and “I Think She Like Me” is the first taste of the album available to us. The video features Ty Dolla Sign and is typical Rick Ross braggadocio. He raps about hitting Cannes film festival with Leonardo Di Caprio and even tosses in a line about being neighbors with NFL star Tom Brady.

After months of hype, Major Lazer has finally released the collaboration with PartyNextDoor and Nicki Minaj titled “Run Up.” The song definitely plays on Diplo’s like for the dancehall sound and is a certified banger. According to Complex, “Run Up” is expected to be on Major Lazer’s upcoming fourth studio album, Music Is the Weapon.”
And while visiting Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show last summer, Diplo let us know some of the artists’ who might be featured on the album.
“Definitely we have Usher on it. [“Lean On” collaborator] MØ’s back on songs,” he said. “We have a song with Sam Hunt which is very unusual, but I love him. Travis Scott. I don’t even know; I have to go back…Sia is on a couple ideas, but one of the records might be her record. She’s definitely background vocals on a song.”
Iceberg is the title for the upcoming album from artist/producer Oddisee. Fans got a taste of the album from the previous single “Things” back in December and today the DC native delivers “Like Really”, a reality record that is oh so relevant considering America’s corrosive political climate at the moment. There are some pretty obvious antidotes on this song…
“How do you police the streets of a neighborhood you do not engage in/Why a brother get three for a sack while your brother go free for a raping…”
This morning, Future dropped a brand new video for the track “Poppin Tags!’ The song originally debuted back in November during an episode of OVO Sound Radio. According to Complex, in the video “Future puts his lavish lifestyle on full display. There’s cash, cars, and everything in between, as the rapper shows off his flashy side.”
We’re not sure if this video means that we should a expect a new project from Future since he hasn’t officially announced anything yet. But Future is known for dropping surprise tapes, so it’s safe to expect a new mixtape or album any day now.
Today is…well today. Friday January 20th. A lot of people are coping with the inauguration of the 45th President of The United States. New York emcee Joey Badass is turning to the music. “Land Of The Free” is a telling single which laments the direction that America is heading toward. It’s also the rappers birthday and the anniversary of his debut B4.Da.$$. Album that poised him for so much success.
The video for “Good Drank” shot entirely in black and white has finally dropped featuring rappers 2 Chainz, Quavo and Gucci Mane. According to HNHH, “the video was first teased back in October when Street Execs’ WeHardProductions shared some behind the scenes pictures & clips from the video shoot, but after three months it’s finally here.”
Additionally, the video was directed by Howard Ross and was reportedly shot at 2 Chainz’s “Escobar Restaurant” in ATL.
Aside from a car accident that left him with an eye injury, we haven’t heard much from Atlanta artist OG Maco. He released nearly a dozen projects over the last two years but none have returned him to the viral mega status that was achieved with his “U Guessed It” hit. In an interview with Billboard he acknowledges the merit of his biggest hit, but also contends that he’s made more recent music that is better than his peers…
“…I mean, “U Guessed It” has done some amazing things, and all that shit, but I’ve made music that is definitely better than the majority of my peers for the last year, and then on top of that I’ve made it consistently. And that’s not any form of cockiness, that’s just an appreciation of where I’m at.”
“God Willin” is Maco’s newest contribution to this sentiment and it’s not a bad lead up to his Children Of The Rage LP that should come this year. The record is produced by Bob Dylan’s grandson Pablo Dylan and should excite fans for new music from Maco.
