“Living Single” originally was a Chance The Rapper song and was supposed to end up on the Coloring Book LP, but was axed after the track was leaked. However, Big Sean decided to gift us and has re-released the song in celebration of “Bounce Back” entering the Billboard Top 40. The track still includes Chance The Rapper and Jeremih, and the record is rumored to be off Sean’s upcoming fourth solo LP, which is expected to drop in early 2017.
This past weekend Gucci Mane dropped his third album since his first day out out tha feds, The Return of East Atlanta Santa. Just like all other Gucci albums, it’s too hype for your grandma!
Guwop definitely stole Christmas from Mariah Carey this year. Each track has a lil’ Christmas flare, especially “St. Brick Intro”. Album features are slim, but well known – Drake, Travis Scott, and Bryson Tiller.
Gucci Mane and Bryson Tiller collab for the first time on their sleeper hit titled “Drive Me Crazy.” The track will be featured on The Return Of East Atlanta Santa, which will be released this month. This album will mark Gucci’s third solo album this year.
According to the Rap-Up, “after proposing to Keyshia Ka’oir, the newly-engaged Guwop spits about an ex who couldn’t handle his moves. “She want to ride the wave, but my wave’s too wavy,” he brags. “Your car’s too slow, you need to drive Miss Daisy / Jumped out the feds like ‘Fuck you, pay me.’”
The Return Of East Atlanta Santa will be an Apple Music exclusive set to debut on DecemBurr 16.
Ab-Soul has dropped yet another single off of Do What Thou Wilt (DWTW), “D.R.U.G.S.”
Soul’s “D.R.U.G.S.” isn’t your typical bangin’ drug song, it hits the not so glamorous side of drug use/abuse. The visual begins with the acronym:
Don’t Ruin Us God Said
which definitely puts a spin on things. Soulo raps about loving (the obvious) drugs, his fam, and friends, but the visual is what truly makes this song.
We see several unique things throughout the visual, like a melting skull, black roses in flames, balloons, science beakers, and Soulo in an antique mirror, as well as some pretty trippy images. There are definitely a few subliminal messages within.
Peep “D.R.U.G.S.” below and make sure to cop DWTW this Friday!
This past week, Kodak Black was released from prison and the rapper has dropped his first song titled, “There He Go.” Kodak has been very active on social media since his release with both him and his producer Dubba-AA uploading videos to Instagram and Twitter of them recording in a home studio.
Before his release, Kodak also released a personal message saying “I’m happy to finally be going home to my family and friends,” he wrote before standing firm that the current charges against him are not true. “I look forward to clearing my name in the very near future. I want to thank God, my family, my team (Vanessa, Phatboy and James McMillan), Atlantic Records, my lawyers and all of my fans for your continuous love and support. I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love most—working at being the illest rapper alive.”
Today Ab-Soul released details for his highly anticipated album, Do What Thou Wilt (DWTW), including the album artwork and release date.
DWTW is set to drop this Friday, December 9th – the same day as J. Cole’s 4 Your Eyes Only and Post Malone’s Stoney.Safe to say it’ll be a BIG day in the rapisphere my friends!
Soulo also dropped the first single off of DWTW, “Threatening Nature”. He inevitably spits the truth, and hits heavy topics (like always). It’s real, he’s real, and it definitely gives us something to look forward to with this album.
Peep “Threatening Nature” below and make sure to cop DWTW this Friday!
A$AP Mob’s been steady rockin’ the spotlight. They recently released Cozy Tapes Vol. 1:Friends as a whole, and have more in store for us on individual levels.
A$AP Rocky remixed Madeintyo’s “I Want” with A$AP Nast. The remix debuted at A$AP Mobs’ Yam’s Day event in NYC earlier this year, and now it has finally made its way to the internet via SoundCloud. It’s definitely hype, so don’t sleep and make sure to peep below:
SURPRISE!! Gucci Mane and Lil Uzi Vert dropped a joint mixtape, 1017 vs. The World…AND it’s completely free to all via SoundCloud.
1017 vs. The World is short and sweet, at just seven tracks. Production credits go out to Zaytoven, Honorable C Note, D Rich, Manny Fresh, DP Beats and GloHans Beats. Gucci and Uzi have similar styles with trap rappin’ and vibe real well off each other, which definitely shows thru this tape.
Alright, Gambino is (truly) a mastermind. In light of his upcoming album, …Awaken, My Love!, he dropped the single “Redbone” and it is just as mindblowing-ly unique as “Me and Your Mama“.
“Redbone” samples a sped-up version of Jaco Pasourius‘ “Portrait Of Tracy”, from all the way back in 1976. Gambino doesn’t rap on the track (again) but the vocals that he does give us kind of remind me of a young, more modern, Barry White.
In a recent interview with Billboard, Gambino describes his upcoming album, …Awaken, My Love!, as being influenced by the music that he grew up on:
“I remember listening to songs my dad would play—albums by the Isleys or Funkadelic—and not understanding the feeling I was feeling. I remember hearing a Funkadelic scream and being like, ‘Wow, that’s sexual and it’s scary.’ Not having a name for that, though; just having a feeling. That’s what made it great.” – Donald Glover
Peep “Redbone” below, and stay on the lookout for …Awaken, My Love!, expected Dec. 2!

Back in September, Gambino hosted his Pharos event at Joshua Tree where he performed the whole album. Cell phones/cameras/recording devices weren’t allowed, so there is no actual footage of it. Attendees described the album as a whole new side of Gambino, with very little rapping, and “Me And Your Mama” confirms just that.
