TBTB

Following two Grammy wins last night, here’s a fiery new track from Kendrick Lamar. “The Blacker The Berry” comes at a time when plenty of artists are using their platforms to speak out against police brutality and many forms of racism that have been brought to light in the last few months. Hurt and anger can be heard in Kendrick’s voice as he spits about racial stereotypes and the some of the negative pieces of the African-American experience. The gritty verses are run over a dark Boi-1da track. Listen to the new song below.

Straight Outta Compton Trailer [Video]

Straight Outta Compton

Last night during The Grammy Awards, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre were featured in a commercial (finally) announcing the trailer for the upcoming NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton. The commercial shows Cube and Dre riding through their old neighborhood and casually bumping into stars like The Game and Kendrick Lamar, who explain the impact NWA had on their lives. The red band trailer for the biopic is action-packed, capturing the rebellious attitudes and anarchic environments that existed during the rise of NWA. It also does a damn good job of getting audiences excited about this film. Watch the intro and red band trailer below. Straight Outta Compton hits theaters August 14th.
