Yesterday Kaytranada finally dropped his full remixes on Chance the Rapper’s “All Night” off of Coloring Book and Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky” off of A Seat at the Table. He had previously released snippets thru his 0.001% back in September. Kaytranada adds his funky twist to both tracks and the results will definitely make you want to dance! It’s only been two years since Kehlani released her first mixtape, Cloud 19, but it feels like much longer. Since then, we’ve watched Kehlani become a huge success story. Her smash, GRAMMY-NOMINATED mixtape You Should Be Here was ranked 16th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 20 Best Albums of 2015. YSBH really established the 21-year-old Oakland native as an artist who’s here to stay. Since its release, we’ve seen this girl everywhere. She signed to Atlantic Records and sold out every single date of her first North American tour. She’s had features on huge records from Zayn, Pusha T, G-Eazy and Marc E. Bassy. Kehlani could also be called a festival pro: she performed at SXSW 2015 and 2016, Austin City Limits Music Festival last year, JMBLYA, and Roots Picnic just to name a few. She’s also recently been given the opportunity to open for her Lauryn Hill, for whom Kehlani has so much admiration that she tattooed Ms. Hill’s face on her arm.
Since YSBH, Kehlani has released some new music, including her hit “Gangsta” from the Suicide Squad soundtrack. Right now, you probably can’t get “CRZY” out of your head, and neither can plenty of other music lovers; it’s currently sitting on the Billboard Top 100.
The line “If I gotta be a bitch, I’ma be a bad one” from “CRZY” is pretty indicative of Kehlani’s writing style. She’s confident, and she tells it like it is without any sugar coating. As for her singing style, Kehlani can mix half-rapping, half-singing like on “Did I” or “Runnin” or go full-on powerhouse. Her breathy, sultry R&B vocals can blend with trap beats and piano melodies alike and make anything she touches turn to gold.
If you’ve never seen Kehlani’s live performances or videos, you may be surprised to learn that she’s a talented dancer. She started out as a ballerina, but her hip-hop choreography on stage is extremely impressive and more complex than that of most other performers out right now. Besides the dancing, what really brings the energy to her live performances is her extremely loyal fan base, known as the Tsunami Mob. The commitment and passion of the Tsunami Mob really says a lot about Kehlani as an artist. They have a relatable artist whom they respect and admire, and they know they’re going to get a good show. Here’s the formula: Noodles, Kehlani’s DJ, hypes up the already anxious crowd and Kehlani and her dancers come out and bring their A-game; and they kill it every time.

Here’s a description of Sango’s music in a few words: it’s a mix of everything you love and everything you don’t know you love yet. The Seattle-born producer loves to mix your favorite 90s and 2000s hip-hop and R&B with his own creative instrumentals and… Brazilian baile funk. Sango’s Brazil-inspired Da Rocinha series has gained massive attention, most notably for the wildly popular track “Agorinha.” Since Sango’s name comes from a female character in a Japanese manga series, it shouldn’t be hard to figure out that he loves mixing in international influences. The rare ingredients he mixes together complement each other tremendously; his 229,000 SoundCloud followers can back him up on that.
Sango is no stranger to music festivals; he’s held spots at Coachella, Electric Forest, and earlier this year, Broccoli City. He’s also done countless shows with the rest of his crew from Soulection, the buzzworthy, LA-based producer and DJ collective known for its futuristic sounds, heavy SoundCloud fan base, and Beats 1 radio show.
Aside from his Da Rocinha series, Sango is known for his collaborations with artists like JMSN, Tinashe, and fellow Soulection member GoldLink. His debut album North was released in 2013 and includes the track “Middle of Things, Beautiful Wife” which features frequent collaborator Xavier Omar. He and Xavier Omar also put out a project called Hours Spent Loving You earlier this year.
What’s a Sango live show like? He spoke to Vibe earlier this year about his process.
“I have a set up and in that set up I have my main songs that I’ll play. Then, I have a side library from like literally each city, so when I go to a region I’m already prepared with what moves them.”
It will be very interesting to see what this means for a Texas show. Sango has been known to mix in Timbaland instrumentals, Outkast vocals, and even old Immature samples into his beats, so San Antonio most likely has some delightful surprises to look forward to during his set later this month.

As anticipated, Mac Miller released The Divine Feminine this evening. With his pre-released album singles, Dang!, We, and My Favorite Part, we could only expect the best. And that is exactly what we got.
The Divine Feminine is “all about love” and a masterpiece, especially because it’s a whole new side to the Mac we’ve grown to love. In a recent interview with Pigeons & Planes, Mac opened up about about how his life has recently taken a 360 turn for the better:
“Thinking about how dark of a place I was in before, and to see this amazing shift in my life happen, where just choosing to live in a positive way has affected my whole relationship with the universe. I don’t do drugs, smoke weed, drink alcohol, or anything. I’m 100% clear-headed, which is crazy.”
After listening completely thru The Divine Feminine, you can see exactly what Mac is referring to. It is indeed an album about love, and it works for him. Especially at this point in his life.
After dropping The Divine Feminine, Mac released a confession to his fans via Twitter. He’s definitely feeling some type of way this evening, and surrounded by positive vibes/influences.
Post Malone has teamed up with Justin Bieber on “Deja Vu,” a chilled laid-back track right up Post’s alley. A while back, Post and Justin hit the road together on the North American leg of Bieber’s Purpose World Tour. According to Complex, “Post also first revealed that he had a track with the pop star on the way during an interview with Zane Lowe.” Now that the track has dropped, let’s hope Post’s debut album will be released soon since it was originally due on August 26.
Post Malone will be also be making a stop in Austin, Texas. You can purchase tickets below:
Last Friday Travi$ Scott finally blessed our ears with his sophomore album, Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. However after listening all the way thru, we came to realize that THE Brian McKnight isn’t even featured on the album, even though he inspired the title…
Well apparently Travi$ was plottin’ and schemin’ this whole time. Today he released a promo for an upcoming song/visual “Bitch You Broke My Heart” featuring Brian McKnight. The one-minute clip shows the R&B superstar playing the piano and singing his famous “One Last Cry”, while Travy’s flannel majestically blows in the wind.
Peep the clip below and stay on the lookout for the epic collar!
Frank Ocean released his new album titled Blonde this past Saturday including the track “Nikes,” and the accompanying video for the song has been released. According to Complex, “the video for “Nikes” is a whirlwind of emotion, as the NSFW clips include shots of A$AP Rocky holding up a photo of A$AP Yams and Frank holding up a picture of Trayvon Martin.”
The release of “Nikes” also came one night after Frank released his new visual album, Endless,
It’s been over four years since Frank Ocean released his debut album, Channel Orange, and fans have been overly-eager for new music. Last night via his live stream, Frank released a visual album, Endless.
Oh, and apparently this isn’t even the highly anticipated sophomore album we’ve all been waiting for? According to Rolling Stone, Endless is a completely separate project and Frank’s highly anticipate sophomore album, Boys Don’t Cry which is currently undergoing a name change , will be exclusively released to Apple Music subscribers later this weekend.
Endless is also exclusive to Apple Music for now. The visual album takes place in the warehouse on Frank’s live stream. New music plays in the background as he builds stairs, which is interesting. There’s obviously some meaning behind it but for now all we can do is debate our own explanations.
If you have an Apple Music subscription, you can view Endlesshere. If not, well you’ll have to wait a minute (or finally hop on the Apple Music bandwagon).
Also, stay on the lookout for Boys Don’t Cry the other album that Frank is suppose to drop this weekend.
As anticipated, PARTYNEXTDOOR dropped P3 last night at midnight. Right before releasing his third project, PND took it to twitter and his official website to let fans know how personal P3 is to him.
I’m anxious, I feel I only ever talk in songs. And I, myself haven’t spoken in a while…& I’m about to say a lot tonight thru my music…
PND starts the album off with the deep track “High Hopes”, in which he finds a clever way to incorporate lyrics from the classic Blackstreet song “No Diggity”. We then move onto the pre-released single “Not Nice” which is a bumpy-tune, as well as “Only U” with a slight Rasta feel. “Joy” is a lovely track where Party praises his girl. “Transparency” is a deep track about love, sex, drugs, and alcohol. Party ends the album with “Nothing Easy to Please”, which he teased four days before the album drop via twitter.
You can’t listen to P3 and expect bangers, because that isn’t the type of artist PND is. Overall, P3 is a very deep heartbreak album. Listening to the album straight thru won’t connect song-to-song and form a story, but each track does tell one which is how Party is such a relatable artist.
