Ab-Soul – “D.R.U.G.S.” [Single + Visual]

ab

Ab-Soul has dropped yet another single off of Do What Thou Wilt (DWTW), “D.R.U.G.S.”

Soul’s “D.R.U.G.S.” isn’t your typical bangin’ drug song, it hits the not so glamorous side of drug use/abuse. The visual begins with the acronym:

Don’t
Ruin
Us
God
Said

which definitely puts a spin on things. Soulo raps about loving (the obvious) drugs, his fam, and friends, but the visual is what truly makes this song.

We see several unique things throughout the visual, like a melting skull, black roses in flames, balloons, science beakers, and Soulo in an antique mirror, as well as some pretty trippy images. There are definitely a few subliminal messages within.

Peep “D.R.U.G.S.” below and make sure to cop DWTW this Friday!

I want to thank God, my family, my team (Vanessa, Phatboy and James McMillan), Atlantic Records, my lawyers and all of my fans for your continuous love and support. Kid Cudi’s making all the moves from rehab. This past weekend he took another shot at Drake, and today he dropped the visual for “Surfin” featuring Pharrell.

In the video Cudi’s dancing around with A$AP Rocky and Jaden Smith, and looks extremely happy. It can be assumed that the video was made prior to his depression confession/rehab announcement, but it can only give us hope that Cudi’s on a real road to recovery.

Steven Hiroyuki Aoki, better known as Steve Aoki, has been a DJ for quite some time now. The 38 year old has definitely perfected his craft. Steve’s well known for his own tracks, as well as his many collab’s and remixes. He collab’d with Kid Cudi for his remix of “Pursuit of Happiness”, that was featured in the movie Project X. He remixed Drake’s “Forever”. He collab’d with Will.I.Am for “I’m in the House”, which was a hit with MTV’s reality series Jersey Shore. Aoki has also worked with Diplo, Tiesto, The All American Rejects, and Bassnectar…just to name a few. Steve founded his own label, Dim Mak, back in 1996 and named it after his idol Bruce Lee. Dim Mak is the home for Aoki, as well as many additional artists such as MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beetroots, Bloc Party, and more. Netflix came out with the documentary “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” based on Steve Aoki, and it’s literally his life motto. He has a ‘can’t stop won’t stop’ attitude, and it’s rooted from his father. The documentary follows Steve, and shows us how crazy his life truly is. Steve Aoki has released several albums over his career, with the most notable being Wonderland, and recent 2 part Neon Future series. Wonderland was released in 2012 and features were stacked with Kid Cudi, LMFAO, Travis Barker, Will.I.Am, etc. It’s the album that Steve blew up off of. Neon Future l was released in 2014, and Neon Future ll in 2015. Notable features include Waka, Snoop, Kid Ink, MGK, Flux, and Will.I.Am.
