Remember that time Chance the Rapper told us his debut album with The Social Experiment, Surf, would be out within a week? That didn’t happen. However, to quench the thirst of his fans, Chance dropped a snippet of a soulful new track via his Soundcloud. “Hiatus Broadcast” is from Chance’s home studio and samples the soulful grooves from Hiatus Kaiyote’s “Fingerprints” (hence the name). With Hiatus Kaiyote’s background vocals always on point mixed with Chance’s signature ad-libs, this song could show up anywhere on Chance’s catalogue, Surf or not, and fans would be satisfied.
