And After That, We Didn’t Talk, GoldLink’s debut album is out now. Last week, the DMV and Soulection rapper sat down with XXL (which named him a Freshman earlier this year) about the album’s influences and the creative process. What was the biggest influence? Women, of course. As GoldLink put it, his main influence was his “relationships with women. Because that’s what shapes me into the man I am.” In addition to women, GoldLink talked working with Rick Rubin, Soulection “the sound of tomorrow,” and how he’s changed for the better.
