GoldLink- "Dark Skinned Woman" & "New Black" [audio]

largeGoldLink took to Twitter to announce that he would be dropping his debut album,  And After That, We Didn”t Talk, a week earlier than initially expected. He also used the opportunity to share the artwork for the album and the tracklist– what a busy guy!

Soon after, GoldLink released two online casino of the tracks off the album to the public, “Dark Skinned Woman” and “New Black”. The first is an ode to women, accompanied by big band sound and jovial groove. Listen to it here along with a brief interview by Annie Mac.

“New Black” tells a story of the struggle we”ve seen go down a million and one ways. It”s got a lighthearted sound that”s easy to get into, with lyrics that are arresting and smoothly delivered. GoldLink has successfully blown up the anticipation for his release on Friday.

If you”re not familiar with GoldLink, it”s time to get on it. The DMV rapper/Soulection artist has finally announced his debut LP, And After That, We Didn”t Talk, which is due out November 13th. He also dropped the lead single “Spectrum” which sounds like everything that is casino good about Soulection. Just like one of his earlier singles from this year, GoldLink used a killer “90s hip-hop sample; this one”s from Missy Elliott, and it couldn”t go more perfectly with the rest of the song. If this is what we have to look forward to for the rest of the album, we”re in for a banger. Moral of the story: don”t sleep on GoldLink. Listen to “Spectrum” below.
