Anderson .Paak – The Waters (Feat. BJ The Chicago Kid)[Youtube]

LA Rapper/Singer Anderson .Paak has dropped some new funky heat with BJ The Chicago Kid. Anderson .Paak gained alot of exposure in 2015 with his new music and contributions to Dr. Dre‘s Compton. His lyrical skill and soulful vocals showcase the gospel elements within hip hop. The LA rapper has just released a new album entitled Malibu. Malibu features some pretty heavy hitting features including BJ The Chicago Kid‘s contribution on “The Waters”. This track’s groovy bass line is enough to have anyone bobbing their head, but BJ’s additional vocals add soul to compliment .Paak’s funk. BJ’s background crooning sets the overall mood for this “ghetto gospel”.  You can listen to “The Waters” below.

Kendrick Lamar Throws Shade at Drake on Compton Album

drakevskendrick

Dr. Dre’s new album Compton has everyone talking, but not necessarily about the Doctor. Actually, everyone seems more preoccupied with some suspected shade coming from Kendrick Lamar in his features on Dre’s album. The recipient of that shade? None other than Drake.

The lyrics from two songs on the album suggest that Meek Mill isn’t the only one taking some shots at Jimmy.

On “Darkside/Gone” Kendrick raps:

“You scared of my heist now/But still I got enemies giving me energy/I wanna fight now/Subliminals sending me all of this hate/I thought I was holding the mic down”

And on “Deep Water” he raps:

“They liable to bury him/They nominated six to carry him/They worry him to death but he no vegetarian/The beef is on his breath inheritin’ the drama like better than a Great White/Nigga, this is life in my aquarium!”

Lamar’s use of the words energy and the six reference songs on Drake’s If Your Reading This It’s Too Late. Drizzy has yet to drop any diss tracks or even show signs of noticing the shade. We’ll have to wait and see how this beef stews.

Outside of the drama, the album is as lit as expected. You can purchase Compton here and listen for yourself.
