Flatbush Zombies – Glorious Thugs

Glorious Thugs

When you see the title of this song and then hear that opening piano sample you think, “Did they?” Did Flatbush Zombies really try to go in on a Biggie/Bone Thugs classic? Yes, they did. And yes, they succeeded. Meechy Darko is up first, and although mostly known for his distinct, grimy voice, he switched it up on this track, first mimicking the Biggie original flow (“Armed and dangerous!”), then going full speed ahead. The speed didn’t stop there. Juice and Erick both brought their quickest flows, to the point where you might need to listen to this track a few more times to understand what they’re saying. Flatbush Zombies chose this track to remind you of the glorious ’90s, to remind you of why they’re successful, and to pay homage to their borough. Big ups to Brooklyn. Listen to the track below.
