According to The-Dream, his “mother loved a lot of artist [sic] growing up, but the one [they] shared the most interest in together was Sam Cooke.” IAMSAM is a tribute to his mom and one of their favorite artists. The project includes all your favorite tracks from the legendary soul singer, including “You Send Me” and the best-known and forever-referenced “A Change Is Gonna Come.” The-Dream puts his own spin on the soul covers, while still paying respect to one of the greatest to ever do it.
