Just days after the surprise announcement of their joint venture, Detroit rapper Big Sean and Los Angeles songstress Jhene Aiko have joined forces to create a musical duo titled TWENTY88. The eight-track album, available to stream exclusively through TIDAL for four days, and fans can download it at other digital retailers including Apple Music.

According to Rap-up, the album combines ’90s R&B and ’70s experimental rock and soul, explores the highs and lows of a relationship, while delving into conflict, memories, love, and sex. K-Ci & JoJo appear on the Detail-produced “2 Minute Warning,” with additional production from Key Wane and Tommy Brown.

“Music now doesn’t really cater to the feelings of a real relationship,” Aiko recently told Flaunt. “It’s all about trapping and bragging. I feel like this project is something that’s needed right now…Especially a whole project, is just good for people to see. That duality is a perfect combination.

Big Sean – “Get My Shit Together”

get-my-shit-together
A couple days ago, Big Sean celebrated his 28th birthday, and dropped an introspective new track. “Get My Shit Together” features a minimal type beat which gives Big Sean the opportunity to spit some deep game. Sean speaks on his journey to success with an effortless flow, which he switches up halfway through the track. Sean shows off his lyrical versatility while talking about his hopes for the future. It’s easy to see Big Sean is in his own mind throughout the song, and it makes for another dope track from the GOOD Music artist.

Fortunately, one track just wasn’t enough for Sean Don, as there has also been a press release for a new collab album featuring Big Sean and R&B talent Jhene Aiko. This new album will be a conceptual effort from the two artists featuring production from producers Key Wane, Detail and Tommy Brown. The new collaborative project Twenty 88 will be a Tidal exclusive which will release April 1st.

Gallant teams up with Jhené Aiko on their soulful collaboration titled “Skipping Stones.” According to Billboard, Gallant is a 23-year-old New York University graduate who began recording songs in middle school to parse his teen emotions. He sings with Jhene Aiko over a gentle, hypnotic beat, co-produced by Adrian Younge and Stint.

Their tender duet was dedicated to “the lonely ones this Valentine’s Day,” Gallant told The FADER.

“Skipping Stones,” along with the James Fauntleroy-assisted “Borderline,” will be available as a two-track release on Friday. Gallant will also perform at Coachella in April.

Childish Gambino, Jhene Aiko and Vince Staples – “Waiting For My Moment”

creed

Is it possible, or safe, to have so much star power on one track? Whew! Straight from the Creed motion picture soundtrack  Childish Gambino, Jhene Aiko and  Vince Staples have linked up to bring us this epic track. Accompanied by composer Ludwig Goransson, Gambino and Aiko take the first verse to croon and sing as the song builds. Vince Staples takes the second verse to spit some hard but honest bars. Definitely a dope track that compliments a should be dope movie. Creed is set to hit theatres November 25, you can listen to “Waiting For My Moment” below.

Big Sean Releases Two New Videos

JheneBigSean

Big Sean can’t stop, won’t stop. Last week, he released a moving video for “One Man Can Change the World”, and now this week two more tracks off Dark Sky Paradise have assigned visuals. First up is “I Know” with strong supporting vocals from Jhene Aiko, who is featured on the album twice. The video features Big Sean and Ms. Aiko as senior citizens (thanks to a makeup artist who deserves an award) going on an adventure.

Next up is “All Your Fault” with another twice-featured Dark Sky Paradise guest: Yeezus himself. The video is more than just Kanye and Big Sean in a club. It’s a deep look at the two MCs representing a type of synergy and swag that can only happen in hip-hop. As they switch off, facing each other and calling and responding on the third verse, so closely that they could share a microphone, we’re reminded of where it all started. We can reminisce about the old school style battle rap and feel like we’re in an underground 1980s New York club, but we can also celebrate the undeniable musical chemistry that these two have in 2015.

Jhene Aiko – Eternal Sunshine [Video]

Jhene2

R&B crooner Jhene Aiko has released the video for “Eternal Sunshine,” a track off her popular debut full-length album, Souled Out. Jhene is on screen singing the words to her beautiful song the entire time, while the aftermath of a car accident plays out in the background. There are also flashes back to her childhood, and the video is dedicated to her brother who passed away from cancer in 2012. Although the video has a grave tone, the message of the song is very uplifting. Watch the video directed by Jay Ahn below.

Big Sean Drops Two New Songs from Dark Sky Paradise

Dark Sky Paradise

The countdown to February 24th is on, and Big Sean has given his fans some previews of his new album Dark Sky Paradise to hold them over until its official release. “Win Some, Lose Some” features Jhené Aiko and includes her typical smooth crooning over Big Sean’s lyrics. “One Man Can Change The World” is an uplifting track over beautiful piano, supported by equally beautiful vocals from John Legend and Kanye West. It also includes a touching excerpt of a conversation between Big Sean and his grandmother at the end of the track. If the rest of the album is anything like these two tracks, we can’t wait to hear more. Listen to the two tracks below.
