Pro Era’s Kirk Knight self-produced this bouncing record, ignoring the the petty mess between Troy Ave and Joey Bada$$ and focusing on his own hustle. He dropped this new track today, a self-assertion of his own bright future. Listen below.
Last night at the Parish the Underacheivers took the stage following openers Pouya & The Buffet Boys, Kirk Knight and Bodega Bamz, giving the crowd a casino good taste of the Brooklyn rap squad’s psychedelic music style. Check out our photos from last night to relive the sweaty live performance.

A month ago, Kirk Knight dropped the first single, “Knight Time,” off his upcoming album Late Knight Special. Shortly after we got to hear “Goodnight,” a track featuring Joey Bada$$, Flatbush Zombies and Dizzy Wright. This week, Knight gives us another track off the upcoming project titled “Dead Friends.” Featuring gut-punching bars by Noname Gypsy and a killer guitar solo courtesy of Thundercat. The title of the song and the dismal, personal lyrics fit perfectly with the dark tone of the album. Knight raps the chorus: Every time I feel alive I think of dead friends, the rest are just dead to me. His album drops Oct. 30 and is available for preorder on iTunes. Check out the track below and peep the links to upcoming shows Kirk Knight has with The Underachievers.
It is time once again for a member of the Beast Coast movement to deliver an insane posse cut, like only they could. This one comes from Kirk Knight, who is releasing his new album Late Knight Special next month. From the tracklist on iTunes, it doesn’t look like this cut makes the final album, but it’s something fans can enjoy while they wait. Pro Era members and Flatbush Zombies always make beautiful music together, and on this track Dizzy Wright comes in and pulls it all together. Listen to the track below.
Kirk Knight will be joining fellow Beast Coast rappers The Underachievers on tour in Texas this November. You can get tickets to those shows at the links below.
Austin, TX – 11/4
Dallas, TX – 11/5
San Antonio, TX – 11/6
Pro Era member Kirk Knight is coming out with his solo debut album, Late Knight Special, set to release October 30. The New Yorker made his announcement on Beats 1 and shared his first single titled “Knight Time.” The song is filled with ominous vibes and dark motifs, so it’s only fitting the album is set to come out the day before Halloween. Knight will be touring this fall with The Underachievers. Listen to the single below and peep the tour dates to find out when the dark Knight is coming to a venue near you.
Mick Jenkins is quickly becoming one of the dopest in the game – some would say he’s already there. It’s just a matter of time before this guy is selling out huge venues. For those of you that got the chance to see him the past two nights in Dallas and Houston with Kirk Knight, Saba Pivot and Noname Gypsy, you are some of the lucky ones. You’re ahead of the curve. Mick is one of the livest performers we’ve seen in awhile and we can’t wait for his next two shows with us – tonight in San Antonio at Alamo City Music Hall and this Tuesday in Austin at Holy Mountain for Red Bull Sound Select with Blue, the Misfit, Mike Floss and WhyJae ($3 with RSVP). Check out the rest of the photos from Houston last night and RSVP for the RBSS show below:
