Rozay’s upcoming album Rather You Than Me was announced last November and the hype ensued. Let’s talk about why. This is the first album that will be released via his new venture with Epic records. Ross had a long running career with the historic Def Jam label and it was assumed that he would renew his contract with them. Instead he chose to join the new energy that L.A. Reid is building with a roster that includes Future, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Jidenna, 21 Savage, Yo Gotti and more.
Ross announced the name of the forthcoming album via a sweatshirt he fashioned on the red carpet at the AMA’s.
Two months have gone by and “I Think She Like Me” is the first taste of the album available to us. The video features Ty Dolla Sign and is typical Rick Ross braggadocio. He raps about hitting Cannes film festival with Leonardo Di Caprio and even tosses in a line about being neighbors with NFL star Tom Brady.
Curren$y dropped his eighth mixtape of 2016, Weed Instrumentals 2, furthering solidifying the artist’s reputation of being one of the most productive, fruitful and creative rappers in the industry. After treating us to another project filled with solid production and prolific verses, the New Orleans rapper dropped a new visual for his “Dope Boys” track featuring Rick Ross. The track made its first appearance on Curren$y’s 4/20 celebratory mixtape, Bourbon Street Secrets, in April. It appeared just two days after releasing his “Canal Street Boys” video. Peep the new visual below.
Royce’s Layers album has garnered critical acclaim since its release back in April. The impressive lyrical dexterity of this release has it being championed as the hip-hop album to beat so far in 2016.
Today the lead single gets a visual treatment via director Ryan Snyder. The video chronicles a clever scheme to bring street justice to a crooked politician.
Houston’s own Trae Tha Truth has blessed us with an early release stream of his new album Tha Truth 2 to follow his summer 2015 release of Tha Truth. Rick Ross has received a lot of praise for his Black Market album that dropped last Friday. The monster project shows that the Boss put in a lot of work and he’s not trying to slow down. We’ve now been given the video for “Crocodile Python,” the seventh track off the album. Watch the video here and cop Black Market on iTunes now.
Black Market is set to drop on December 4th, and the heat leading up to it is getting hotter and hotter. After releasing various remixes and a video for one of his new tracks, the Boss released a trailer for his new album. A bare black and white production of flashing lights and flashing diamonds, playing off the glory it is to be Rick Ross..
He also released a track off the album with an eye-catching feature. Nas joined Rick Ross for “One of Us,” and it goes pretty hard in the paint. Check it out below.
While Rick Ross keeps working on Black Market, he”s still rolling out new work for his fans. The Boss (read: “Bawse”) dropped the video for “Bill Gates” off his Black Dollar mixtape today, as well as a remix to Future”s “Stick Talk,” fitting for the one-year anniversary of Future”s Monster mixtape.
The video for casino “Bill Gates” is just what you”d expect– a movie of money and privilege. Rozay thrives among the comforts of ridiculous amounts of cash (accounted for by his too-fine fiancée Lira Galore), private jets, an envy-green Ferrari and casual conversations with the Houston Texans.
His “Stick Talk” remix is vicious, citing his own Black Dollar as entertainment.
With less than a week’s notice, Rick Ross announced that he would release his latest project, Black Dollar. Today we get to hear the new 17-track LP that includes a big list features from Future, Wale, Gucci Mane, Meek Mill, The-Dream, and August Alsina. “Foreclosures” gave us a glimpse of the LP earlier this week, and the rest of the tracks do not disappoint. Stream Black Dollar below or download it for free on Datpiff.
Rick Ross gives us a new track called “Foreclosures” and announces that his upcoming will be released this Thursday, Sept. 3. With little notice and no sign of a preorder, fans can guess that the surprise album, Black Dollar, will be available for free. “Foreclosures” is a rap ballad with a very online casino cautious tale about living the line between wealth and foreclosure in the entertainment industry.
Heed Ross”s wise words:
“Can’t be writing checks with your eyes closed
While you living out of homes in different time zones”
French Montana finally premiered the Kanye produced track “Lose It.” It couldn’t be better timed. Kanye’s sample to open takes us to the smug place that “N*ggas in Paris” did. Rick Rosay’s hook “I think I’m bout to lose it mane/Said I’m bout to go Gucci Mane” is perfectly suited to his recent re-run into the law. The song makes you feel like a badass just listening to it. Peep the track below.
