Maxo Kream and Trill Sammy, two of Houston’s own, are hopping on tour together for a run throughout the Lone Star State next month. If you aren’t familiar with either artist or need a refresher, check out their music and some interviews below. The Houston show is free and the remaining three shows are $7.13 with general admission proceeds being donated to Hurricane Harvey relief via Angels by Nature Foundation.

I Know What You Should Do This Summer: Skills to Build as an Aspiring Music Professional

Tomorrow evening from 7 – 9 PM in Austin, TX at Google Fiber Space we have teamed up with The City of Austin Economic Development Department’s Music & Entertainment Division to co-present a panel discussion with some of Austin’s leading music industry professionals. I Know What You Should Do This Summer: Skills to Build As An Aspiring Music Professional will be a discussion on professional development, balancing goals and networking.

The discussion, moderated by Omar Lozano, Music Marketing Manager of the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, will feature leading professionals within the Austin music community who will also answer audience questions.

Media:

Our media internship includes writing content for our blog, creating and helping manage social media campaigns, implementing creative ideas for promoting concerts and festivals, creating graphics, taking photos at our shows, brainstorming and implementing content ideas and more.

Qualifications:
-Great communications skills
-Ability to assimilate and put new knowledge and skills into practice quickly
-Ingenuity
-Familiar with all social media outlets (Mainly Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat but others a plus)
-Photography and photo editing

Accounting/Office Administration:

Our accounting internship includes assisting the accountant on financial reports, bookkeeping, data entry, filing, bank deposits and other administrative projects.

Very First Breath: A Film About Hudson Mohawke [Video]

Noisey recently released a short film, Very First Breath: A Film About Hudson Mohawke, focusing on the DJ, producer and songwriter. The film follows HudMo back to Glasgow, Scotland, his hometown, where we get insight to his upbringing, the friends he grew up with that he still remains close with today and how he started DJing and making music.

According to the accompanying Noisey article, “Ross celebrates his homecoming with a last minute Trance & Happy Hardcore rave, performing with his peers from the Glasgow scene, Rustie and Jackmaster.”
