Rozay’s upcoming album Rather You Than Me was announced last November and the hype ensued. Let’s talk about why. This is the first album that will be released via his new venture with Epic records. Ross had a long running career with the historic Def Jam label and it was assumed that he would renew his contract with them. Instead he chose to join the new energy that L.A. Reid is building with a roster that includes Future, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, Jidenna, 21 Savage, Yo Gotti and more.
Ross announced the name of the forthcoming album via a sweatshirt he fashioned on the red carpet at the AMA’s.
Two months have gone by and “I Think She Like Me” is the first taste of the album available to us. The video features Ty Dolla Sign and is typical Rick Ross braggadocio. He raps about hitting Cannes film festival with Leonardo Di Caprio and even tosses in a line about being neighbors with NFL star Tom Brady.
Ty Dolla Sign has finally dropped the video for the track, “$,” which is a turn up track included on the Campaign album. The video also is directed by Gabe Shaddow. According the Complex, the visual finds Ty enjoying “a lavish Switzerland getaway as he lights up while casually walking through the country’s forest, chilling on a hotel’s roof in the city, and taking to the the water on a sweet speed boat.”
In a surprising move, Taylor Gang dropped their new mixtape titled TGOD Vol. 1, which just dropped suddenly on Datpiff. The mixtape features new music from members Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla Sign, Juicy J, Chevy Woods, Berner, Project Pat, and many more.
This mixtape also marks the first official group release from Taylor Gang since the crew recently finalized their deal with Atlantic Records. According to Yahoo, “the deal outlines that said partnership does not apply to Taylor Gang Artists like Wiz or Ty Dolla Sign, who have contracts with other major labels, and instead will focus on providing support for TGE’s newer artists.”
Ty Dolla $ign’s new album Campaign was released Friday, September 25. Leading up to the drop day, Dolla shared three tracks, “Stealing,” “Three Wayz,” featuring Travis Scott, “Campaign” featuring Future and “Zaddy.” The album is a nice mix of politically themed anthems and the bangers we got from his debut album Free TC. This album, similar to the first album, has some pretty exciting features including, Future, Migos, Travis Scott, his brother, TC, and a few others.
Ty’s fans seem to be enjoying every bit of the 16-track project.
Ty Dolla $ign has released another video from his upcoming project Campaign titled “Zaddy.” Back in July, Ty Dolla $ign dropped the song “Campaign” with Future and released “No Justice” with his older brother Big TC. According to Complex, “the new video for the track stars Ty Dolla $ign who leads us through the futuristic time where he shows his robotic girl all the things world has to offer as she seemingly experiences things from a human perspective for the first time.”
Ty Dolla $ign and Future connect on a new song titled “Campaign.” Ty Dolla $ign premiered the new track today on Beats 1 Radio with Zane Lowe. “Me and Future did this on our Purple Reign tour on the bus… It’s lit, I can’t wait for the people to hear it,” he said.
The last track Ty and Future collaborated on was the hit song “Blase,” which ended up going gold. Additionally, Ty is working on Beach House 3, the latest installment in his Beach House mixtape series. A release date has not been set for this project.
Wiz is back with his new album Khalifa which he dropped a few days ago. Among all the bangers of his newest effort, Wiz collabs with Ty Dolla for a soulful vibe track called “Lit”. “Lit” begins with Wiz spittin his usual but beloved laid back flow. Ty Dolla backs up vocally on the chorus as well as contributing a crooning verse. BUT WAIT! There’s more! At about four minutes the entire instrumental changes to a more ambient banger. This second instrumental gives Wiz the perfect amount of room to flex his rhymes. You can listen to “Lit” below.
After a recently squashed high-profile Twitter beef with Kanye West, we can all get back to what matters most; the music. In the wake of all the press he’s recieved, Wiz Khalifa has officially released the much anticipated Khalifa LP. Buzz around the project began when a clip surfaced of Travis Scott & Wiz in the studio last year, which we came now to know as the first single off the project and collaboration “Bake Sale” which ended up being produced by none other than Juicy J. The 13-track LP also includes features from Ty Dolla Sign, Chevy Woods, & even Wiz’s son Sebastian. Stream the album below & cop it on iTunes available now.
