Vince Staples finally released the visual component to his Prima Donna EP. It’s short and sweet, at 10 minutes, and directed by Nabil.
We start out with Vince shooting the music video for “Big Time”. He then takes a crazy cab ride as “Smile” plays, and is eventually dropped off at the Prima Donna hotel. He starts tripping and is overwhelmed with fans as “War Ready” plays. Vince ends up in an open field, shoots himself in a mirror, and dies.

Today, Vince Staples dropped his Prima Donna EP after sitting down with Zane Lowe on Beats One Radio. The project was originally set to drop tomorrow, but luckily he decided to bless our ears a bit early.
Prima Donna begins with “Let It Shine”. It’s the short but sweet church song, and it ends with a gunshot to perfectly transition to “War Ready”. “War Ready” features Andre 3000 and sets the hype for the album. We then move on to “Smile” which is a classic Vince track, and one of my favorites off the album. “Loco” features Kilo Kish and “Prima Donna” features A$AP Rocky, and both featured artists magnificently compliment the songs. Prima Donna ends with the track “Big Time”, which Vince raps about his career.
Prima Donna is definitely a banger overall, with Vince spitting the truth on each and every track. Features include A$AP Rocky, Kilo Kush, and Andre 3000. Production credits go out to No I.D., DJ Dahi, and James Blake.

Clams Casino has finally dropped his debut LP, 32 Levels. The Based God is featured on a handful of tracks, and other features include A$AP Rocky, Vince Staples, Kelela, and quite a few newcomers.
“Be Somebody” was originally suppose to make it on Pretty Flacko’s latest release, At Long Last A$AP, but Clams didn’t get it in on time…so now we’re blessed with it on 32 Levels.
Big Sean crashed the interview for a minute in the beginning, and the two reveal that they will be linking up in the studio soon. They also spoke on making it as a black man in America, and Sean went off.
“We’re young black men from America. Do you know what that means? That means none of this s**t is promised to us, man. These watches, these whatever the f**k we like, taking care of our families, this s**t ain’t promised out here. We gotta work, and I work like I’m a f*****g slave.”
Big Sean left for part-two of the interview, and it’s back to just Vince and Tim Westwood. They talk about Vince’s upcoming project, the recent/past racial shootings in America, and Vince’s simple life back home.
At the end of the interview, Vince shows his respect for Tim Westwood’s interview style over the other interviewers/reporters that he’s sat down with. Vince even compares Westwood to the police.
“If every police officer acted and kinda took their job the way Tim Westwood takes their job, nothing in the world bad would happen. You’re just out here havin’ fun, doin’ it for the people bro. And that’s the difference between you and the police.”

The visuals for “Only Girl” are as dreamy as the harmonizing vocals of Steve Lacy and Kali Uchis together. Paired with her trademark pastel color scheme and delightfully gaudy trimmings, it leaves no doubt that Kali is the only girl you’d want. When Vince Staples rolls up in a red classic whip to a troupe of Kali knock-offs, his face tells us exactly that. Check it out below.
Kali Uchis has her coquetting down to an art. In this newest song, she has The Internet’s Steve Lacy leaving a her a voicemail begging for her to give him one last shot at being with her. She’s a high-class gal with expensive tastes and she’s not going to take him back so easily. Kaytranada’s funky beat helps Staples hop in to spill the beans on his indiscretions, and by the end of the voicemail Lacy’s giving the typical “who’s gonna treat you better than me?” line. Would you take him back? Listen below.
Is it possible, or safe, to have so much star power on one track? Whew! Straight from the Creed motion picture soundtrack Childish Gambino, Jhene Aiko and Vince Staples have linked up to bring us this epic track. Accompanied by composer Ludwig Goransson, Gambino and Aiko take the first verse to croon and sing as the song builds. Vince Staples takes the second verse to spit some hard but honest bars. Definitely a dope track that compliments a should be dope movie. Creed is set to hit theatres November 25, you can listen to “Waiting For My Moment” below.
Vince Staples recently brought his Summertime ’06 campaign to Hong Kong. During his time there, he decided hit Disneyland. His day at the amusement park was captured for us to see thanks to Hypebeast, and can be seen below.
Vince Staples‘ steady rise to the top luckily has no effect on his individualism. The Long Beach rapper is revered for his out-of-the-box humor and philosophical lyrics. Vince Staples is definitely one of a kind and he speaks on his individual opinions in this interview with Time Magazine. In this video Staples explains why 90’s hip hop is considered the Golden Era, and why his opinion differs. Vince Staples proves himself to be an articulate speaker with a fresh perspective. You can watch Vince Staples drop some knowledge below.
Vince Staples stopped by NPR and decided to stream his debut double album eight days before its release on June 30th. Since dropping “Señorita” earlier in the year and making it to the 2015 XXL Freshman list, Vince has made himself one of the most dynamic new players to the game. A move like this only solidifies that status. Stream the full album below.
