PARTYNEXTDOOR – P3 [Album]

As anticipated, PARTYNEXTDOOR dropped P3 last night at midnight. Right before releasing his third project, PND took it to twitter and his official website to let fans know how personal P3 is to him.

PND letter

PND starts the album off with the deep track “High Hopes”, in which he finds a clever way to incorporate lyrics from the classic Blackstreet song “No Diggity”. We then move onto the pre-released single “Not Nice” which is a bumpy-tune, as well as “Only U” with a slight Rasta feel. “Joy” is a lovely track where Party praises his girl. “Transparency” is a deep track about love, sex, drugs, and alcohol. Party ends the album with “Nothing Easy to Please”, which he teased four days before the album drop via twitter.

You can’t listen to P3 and expect bangers, because that isn’t the type of artist PND is. Overall, P3 is a very deep heartbreak album. Listening to the album straight thru won’t connect song-to-song and form a story, but each track does tell one which is how Party is such a relatable artist.

Drake Releases Two New Singles — Hear ‘Pop Style’ & ‘One Dance’

Surprise! Drake dropped not one, but two brand new singles titled “One Dance” featuring Wizkid & Kyla and “Pop Style” featuring Jay Z and Kanye West. The newly debuted songs are Drake’s second and third single off his upcoming album Views from The 6.

The singles follows up “Summer Sixteen,” which Drake premiered back in January on his Beats 1 show OVO Sound Radio. Consequently, Drake joins forces with The Throne, the group Jay Z and Kanye West created in 2012 for their Watch The Throne album. Even though Jay Z only contributed a single bar and some ad-libs, it’s still pretty major since Jay Z hasn’t been featured on a song in over a year. Additionally, “One Dance” features Wizkid, who is one of Nigeria’s biggest artists, and follows in the Dancehall footsteps of Drake’s number one single “Work” with Rihanna.

The stream is no longer available, but the links to iTunes are below:

Drake & Future – What a Time to Be Alive

drake-future

After weeks of speculation, hype, fake covers and praying, Drake and Future released official cover art and went on Beats 1 radio to live stream their collaborative project What A Time to Be Alive. Each of the artists have already released a large amount of their own work this year. Drizzy dropped If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late back in February and has kept a steady flow of tracks coming in on OVO Radio (thanks Meek.) Future released DS2 not too long ago, and let’s not forget 56 Nights. The collaboration is 11 tracks, mostly produced by Metro Boomin. Countless tuned in yesterday to listen, while simultaneously producing some hilarious memes. The project has gotten mostly positive feedback, but there are still a few naysayers. That’s no surprise, since the whole tape was made in such a short period of time. There is also a lot of conversation about what this means as far as Drake’s contract with Cash Money.

Drake said this about the album:
“I went to Atlanta for 6 days a couple weeks ago in the hopes of doing some songs. When you get around it’s like a vortex… that guy could probably outwork anybody right now. He has a natural work ethic that just it’s tough to make someone make 4, 5 songs a night and not want to match it. I went to Atlanta, we went made some songs, and made an entire tape, which is a blessing.”

You can get it on iTunes. Check out the track list below.

Drake – My Side

drake
Drizzy has had a pretty eventful last few days, including getting kissed by Madonna during their Coachella performance. To add to the events, the OVO superstar has just dropped “My Side” which is to be on his new album as bonus content. The track’s vibes are a perfect example of creative risks that pay off. This song and the popular “How Bout Now” will be bonus tracks on the physical copies of If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, due out April 21st. You can check out the vibey single “My Side” below.

So the rumors were true. Drizzy dropped a new project tonight causing the Internet to become a madhouse (à la Beyonce). If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late features Lil Wayne, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Travi$ Scott with production from Austin’s own Eric Dingus, Boi-1da, WondaGurl and others. At the moment, OVO seems to have removed the songs from their SoundCloud account (people on Twitter are pissed), but if you’re a real G you can purchase the project on iTunes.

Drake – Jungle (Short Film)

Drake
Drizzy dusts off his acting boots and gives us short film by Drake. The short film “Jungle” is scored by Drake“s long-time friend and producer Noah “40” Shebib. Not only does this give fans a brilliant visual, it introduces two casino online new tracks by the OVO Rapper. This is a definite treat from the talented actor/rapper, and it”s insightful visual gives a new reason to love Drake. You can watch the short film “Jungle” below.
